Para Tow NZ is run by paraglider pilots for paraglider pilots, we passionately put in the work to make it possible to get high and train over water here in New Zealand.
This all started after years of trying to find suitable locations nationaly where we could conduct training over water.
Meet the Team
The team who makes it happen is made up of a group of passionate pilots who are happy to give back to the sport and support others to progress.
Paragliding has been my passion since 2008. Over the years, I’ve dedicated five years to teaching
ab initio pilots, worked as a commercial tandem pilot, and spent six years serving as the local club safety officer.
My flying experience spans a range of disciplines, including acro, SIV, and cross-country.
I owe much of my progression to the guidance and mentorship of experienced pilots, especially those who supported me during over-water training with rescue support. Inspired by this, I founded Para Tow NZ to give other pilots the same safe and supportive opportunities to advance their skills and confidence in the air.
Boat Driver
Ben has been flying since 2015, and is hugely dedicated to the sport. Acro has been a focus for him over the years but doesn't limit himself to just acro, he also keeps busy chasing many impressive Vol Biv flights. Pete is passionate about flying and always keen to share his passion with others. He flys both paragliders and hang glider's (which makes him a bit of a cross dresser but we don't judge). Pete has lead our HG tow courses and is great to have on the team to help us accommodate both disciplines on the tow. When he's not with us, he is chasing XC and flying tandem's.

Hannah is a paraglider pilot who has been flying since 2014, a skilled member of the team who steps up to both operating the winch and driving the boat.

Leo is a passionate acro, XC and tandem pilot who is always happy to step up when needed and help out operating the tow.

Jason is our Cromwell local.
He works as an instructor at Infinity Paragliding and regularly is found operating the winch or simply helping out at tow days.

Through Infinity Paragliding, Chris offers SIV training utilising the tow and is regularly found helping out on tow days.
